I want to extend my deep condolences to Charlie's family and many friends. I knew Charlie well in the 1980s when he tapped me, under his Georgia Council responsibilities, as chair of the state political science interdepartmental group which made possible the visit of many outstanding speakers from out of state. I always benefited from his insights about the impact of the international community on Georgia and the Southern region. His ability to introduce Georgia to the fast changing international community was remarkable and stands out in my memory. His passing is a great loss for those of us who have been active in making Georgia an internationally recognized place in the world at large.

Mr. Charles Bedford was one of those extraordinary people, that if you are lucky, you meet once or twice in your lifetime.
I met him in 1995, as well as Mrs. Nancy Bedford, and I was so fortunate from that day on. So were my wife and children too.
What a privelege to have been able to spend time with Mr. and Mrs. Bedford, throughout the last 25 years.
He will be missed, because of his intelligence, his wisdom, his kindness, his humanity, his rectitude, his diplomacy, his friendship, and his incredibly sharp and profound sense of humor.
What an Exceptional Southern Gentleman.
He will be missed, but he will always be on our hearts and prayers.
Our condolences to Mrs. Bedford and the family.

Uncle Charlie was not someone I knew well because my dad (one of Aunt Nancy's brothers) was an Army Officer. What I remember of Uncle Charlie was a kind, gentle soul who always had a smile on his face. My heart aches for Aunt Nancy and his family. May he rest in peace.

What a beautiful write up for a life well lived. As described Charlie was a true southern gentleman and was always kind and respectful to everyone he met. His love for Nancy was evident as he told stories of their courtship and travels. I was always honored to be with him and will truly miss him.
