Abraham George Yarid

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Abraham George Yarid of Augusta died on Monday, January 21, 2008. He was 83 years old. Mr. Yarid was cremated and a memorial service was held on Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at The Poteet Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, 706-798-8886. A private committal service will be held at a later date. Mr. Yarid is survived by his daughters, Elaine Pierce and her husband, Randall, of Minnesota, Nancy Kingan and her husband, John, of Florida, and Erica Provo and her husband, Mitch, of Florida; his son, Charles Yarid and his wife, Lisa, of Connecticut; his sister, Margaret Clement of New Hampshire; his brother, Dr. Charles M. Yarid of Augusta; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Mr. Yarid was a native of Lowell, Massachusetts. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. George's Syrian Antioch Church. The Poteet Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, 706-798-8886 was in charge of the cremation and memorial service arrangements.
