I served a mission in Idaho with Dan. He was a force of nature. I loved that guy. So positive and fun to be around. It´s been 43 years but I remember Dan like it was yesterday. RIP my friend.

He was a force of nature and loved life, his wife, family, and Heavenly Father's children. He had an enthusiasm that was contagious. It's still hard to believe he is not here with us. We love the Schwarz family. The Cardon's

My sincere condolences to the Schwarz family. Dan was my Director at Merck many years ago. I had so much respect for him and could see how much he adored his family. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers.

Dear Joan and family,
Our hearts and prayers are with you all! We watched the funeral through zoom from our home in Utah, wishing to be there in person. But we enjoyed the stories of Dan, and we know what a great guy he is!
Much love, from Doug, Rachael, Katarina, and Michael Greer

These are my impressions of Dan. Dan was a life force. He loved his wife, children, and the Lord. Whenever I had the chance to talk with him his kindness, love, and enthusiasm were out front. Like John Taylor he is a Lion of the Lord. Though I have not seen him lately I will miss him greatly. My sympathy, love, and prayers go out to the Schwarz family. He will be remembered.

Dan certainly was larger than life. As my companion in the mission field he helped me transition into a better mission experience and influenced me into being a more positive person. Though we never were close friends I still feel the loss and my condolences go to his family and friends.

I got to know the Schwarz family when 3 of their daughters cheered at Gilbert High School. I had the pleasure of coaching Reagan, Britain and Eden. Dan was so involved in everything his children did. He was always up in the stands cheering them on. This is a loving and beautiful family. My sincere condolences to the family. Dan was a wonderful man and I’m so glad I got to know him.

I really got to know Dan from playing competitive softball with him when we were teenagers.
Dan was a gifted athlete. He played centerfield on our softball teams because he was so fast and skilled. I remember that he enjoyed “challenging” hitters by playing so far in ... but he was so fast that it was very rare that anyone ever hit the ball over his head in center.
Dan was always having fun, both on the field and off the field.
He had an infectious smile that made everyone around him feel a little better and a little happier.
Things seemed to come to Dan so easily because he was intelligent, athletic, handsome, caring, and kind.
I’m sure all of those attributes will always stay with Dan.
I understand Dan and his lovely wife had many wonderful children. And that one of their children has special needs. I believe God sends such special children to special parents.
Dan certainly is special, in so many ways.
And he always will be.
Dan has left us all too early. Fortunately, he knows God’s Plan of Salvation well. I have no doubt that he is enjoying his heavenly reunion with his parents as he awaits the reunion with his sweet family.
Like everyone who got to know Dan, I feel blessed for having know him.
