It has been along time since I have seen you and heard you play. It must have been in the mid 70's at Grandpa Casey's house in Cathedral City. But I have always listened to your records you gave me. I listen to you on cd these days. You inspired me then as you do now, and I will miss you Uncle Al. See ya down the road.

My first rock 'n' roll heroes were 'Duane Eddy and the Rebels' with 'Cannonball' back in 1958, coming through BBC Radio, here in Liverpool Britain. I very soon picked up on the 'powerhouse' and 'inspiration' of Al Casey within 'The Rebels'; from 'The Walker' on ~ and that he had a lot to do with an earlier record that caught my attention: Sanford Clark's 'Son Of A Gun'. Those sounds have been bench marks since, for my taste in Music and my Record Collecting. And within it all, I learned of a fine man, with a gentleness and a humility of Spirit: From a distance, I came to cherish the Man. I am very gratefull that I had the opportunity to visit Phoenix this last August, and Ziggie's Music, and to gather in from Dionne, news of Al Casey and his CD 'Return Of The Green Guitar'. Thankyou for You, Al Casey.

Adios My Friend. Al I was always a fan and spent many an hour at Ramsey's Records on 7th street back In the 50.s. I was happy that I got to meet you and listen to you play at your CD party at the Rhythm a few years back. You are loved and will be missed by us all.

Al, you always made my day. You were always so pleasant and humorous. Not to mention your incredible musical talents! Oy vey - if I just had a fraction of that. But I guess I do now. Your wonderful personality will always be with me, and I will always treasure the guitar knowledge you so humbly taught me.
Play on man!

Hey Al, Your gig here ended but your life has just begun! Thanks for being such a great friend. Thanks for all the repairs and custom mods on your instruments that you had me do. You always had confidence in my ability to make your instruments do what you wanted and that made me feel great as a repair tech.It was always a special moment when you sat down and played whatever it was that I worked on for you and I saw you smile with satisfaction! Thanks Al, You were my friend and I will miss you!

Al, Except for seeing you recently in the hospital, it had been many years since we had crossed paths. When Bob Taylor and I were married, our family and yours traveled together to play music at its best. I remember like it was yesterday, the sessions at Audio Recorders. Oh, what great music. I will always cherish the photos you took of our daughter Carrie when she was about 18 mos. old. They are precious to me. You were an amazing guitarist and just a wonderful musician. Bob always admired you. I am now remarried to another great drummer and singer, Ron Lowry. You were not surprised at us getting married when we visited you recently. Play beautiful music in heaven Al, and we will see you there some day.

So there you are Al, or wherever you are. After 40 years of friendship I hardly know what to say here exept that for all these years I've honored you every time I pick up a guitar whether it's a record date, a concert or just twiddling around the house and will continue to do so for as long as I'm around.
I love you pal.

I have always been in awe of the skills and contributions of Al Casey. Our world is a somewhat dimished place without him. Thank you for all you did for our music, Al. Moreover, thank you for all you did for all the guitar pickers who came to Arizona hoping to learn a lick or two from the master.

Thanks for a lifetime of twang, Al. Back in '55 it cost 15 cents for me to ride the bus downtown to KOOL-TV to see the Sunset Riders each Saturday on Arizona Hayride so I could hear you, Duane and the boys play. Nothing can top those wonderful years. Your musical talent was like none other and Heaven is a brighter place with you there, Ramrod. Keep on pickin' and thank you so much for sharing your great life of music with us.

I thought I was a fairly decent guitarist when I came to my first lesson with you. I quickly realized how little I knew and how much you did. Your lessons opened up a whole world of playing for me and I think of you every time I pick up a guitar. Thank you, Al. You are the greatest!
