Phyllis Mizioch Obituary
An angel was taken away from us and joined the Lord Jesus Christ on July 6, 2010. She was born on October 27, 1952 in Tucumcari, NM to Emmitt and Oletha Yocom. She was raised in Canutillo, Tx where she then raised her own family until August of 1990 when she moved to Phoenix, Az. Phyllis loved Christmas, hiking, music, horses, world travel, but first and foremost her family and friends. She was a long time member and volunteer of Calvary Community Church. She spent countless hours devoting her time to charities like the Sunshine Angels. Her unselfish love could be felt by all who knew her. She never walked in a room without hugging you and telling you that she loved you. She was a loving and amazing mother, sister, wife, grandmother, and friend. The self proclaimed "Deho" is survived by her three sons: Jimmy, Mark, Rusty, and their father Ray Montoya. Her husband Peter J. Mizioch and his three children: Marilyn, Jack, P .J and his daughter and two sons. Proud grandmother of Cassidy Montoya, Zetalyiah Montoya, Emma Faulkner, Vicky and Felicia Diaz. Her three brothers Monty, Ronnie, and Gary Yocom, and her two sisters Linda Yocom and Connie Falls. Also included is her seventeen surviving cousins, 21 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews, and a great-great niece and nephew. She lived every moment, laughed everyday and loved beyond words. Phyllis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held from 5-8 on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Phoenix Memorial Park 200 W. Beardsley Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85027. Service will be held Saturday July 17th 9am at Calvary Community Church 12612 N. Black Canyon Hwy. Phoenix, AZ 85029. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sunshine Angels: 1541 W. Betty Elyse Ln. Phoenix, AZ 85023.

Pete and Family,
Remembering with you the life of someone so dear. Our family will miss Phyllis dearly and we just wanted to let you know that although we often get caught up in our own lives and day to day struggles that we sometimes fall out of touch with cherished friends and family please know that we never stop caring or loving those special people in our lives. Although those times have been recent and we regrettably did not keep in better touch, it is on this rare occasion that we have found ourselves engulfed in deep regret for not making that time. Remembering to stay in better touch is important and regretfully in this instance it is too late. Our family, only, recently heard of your loss and want to send our Sincerest Sympathy to you and your family… for Words, however kind, can't mend your heartache: but those who care and share your loss are wishing you comfort and peace of mind. It will be the little things that you will remember, the quiet moments, the smiles and the laughter you shared together, and although it may seem hard right now, it will be the memories of these little things that help to push away the pain and bring the smiles back again. Death may leave a heartache no one can heal, but we know love leaves a memory that no one can steal, so hold tight to those memories for comfort, lean on your friends for strength and always remember how much you are cared about. You're in our thoughts and prayers. Please know how much you are loved and how deeply your loss is felt by all.

My thought and prayers are with all of the loved ones and friends of Phyllis......... I grew up 4 houses down from her ....... I would often see her friendly smiling face in the mornings while taking my daughter to school. We always enjoyed trick-or-treating at her home as well as admiring her beautiful decorated yar...d around the Holidays........I pray for closure..... and KARMA! RIP Phyllis

For me this is a tragic loss. She was a woman who you couldn’t help but love. I remember as a young boy she came to stay with our family and all the while I wished she could have been my own sister. My deepest sympathy to Ray and the boys, Monty, Linda, Ronnie, Connie and Gary.
And also to all the family and friends that knew Phyllis’ tender loving ways. I will miss her and grieve her passing.

May God bless you and your entire family during this difficult time. I only knew your Mom through cards and letters but understand she was a wonderful and loving woman. Phyllis was always kind to me and my family. I met her through my mom, but she always treated us like we were family and belonged. She was always a support to my children and their education. Phyllis did such an incredible job with the displays in the bookstore. They always looked beautiful, and she knew just how to add the perfect touch. She did everything for our church bookstore our of the goodness of her heart! It was such a great blessing to everyone working there. My deep condolences to Phyllis' family. May you find peace and comfort in Christ.

Rusty and the whole family,
I hold you all so near to my heart before and forever. i am so sorry to hear of this loss and cant even imagine. I love you all as family and was close to phyllis myself. She was a mother figure, mentor and great friend to me. Ill never forget our hikes, breakfast at chompies :) and our all day hang outs at the house just being in each others company. You were such strength to me and helped me believe. You are truely an angel and i can feel your love still even tho you are gone. A memorial will be set up on Shaw Butte mountain for any who whould like to see it. It will be at what we used to call the "sweet spot". In other words half way to the top. Im setting it up Friday morning. I love you Phyllis, Rusty, Mark, Zali, Dakota and the rest of the family. Cant wait to see you again one day!

I didn't know who you were, but a hear you were one of gods angels. That you did wonderful things for people and touched their lives in many ways. God will be rejoicing in heaven knowi ng that he just added an angel to his list. You will be missed by so many people. I never knew you but my brother (Polo) and Vicky talked so highly about you.
