Erickson, Autry (Aut)
72, of Moreno Valley, CA passed away on August 21, 2010. Aut made his mark in life when he left the Lethbridge Native Sons Junior Hockey team to play in the Western Hockey League. He then broke into the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins in the late 50's. A highlight in his career included playing with the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 1967 Stanley Cup. After his playing days were over, he coached the Phoenix Roadrunners. He finished his hockey career as the Assistant General Manager for the New York Islanders. Aut and Judy loved to travel, especially to places where they could play golf, hunt, fish, and enjoy their old friends. Aut was predeceased by his parents, Stanley (Bud) and Joyce Erickson. He is survived by his wife, Judy Erickson, a sister, Carole Joan Foote (Carl), a brother, Bob Erickson (Donna), both of Roseville, California. Aut's life was enriched with nine children, Curt Erickson (Kay), Jeff Erickson (Christine), Jill Birt (Mike), Christe Davis (Patrick), Terry Erickson, Diane Counsellor (Jim), Lee Brown (Sandi), Monty Brown (Terry), and Lynda Rae Moore (Jim). Also left behind are numerous grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends in both the U.S. and Canada. A memorial service will be held at Oasis Christian Fellowship, 1125-B Research Dr., Redlands, California, on Saturday, August 28, at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Redlands Community Hospital Hospice.
