Judith Lorenz Obituary

Lorenz, Judith "Judy" Ann
74, of Fountain Hills, AZ passed away on May 14, 2016 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on December 17, 1941 in Adrian, Michigan to Stan and Sally Bauschka. She received a B.A. degree from Adrian College in 1962 and a M.A. from Michigan State University in 1967. As a wife, mother and teacher, Judy dedicated most of her life to helping others. She served 26 years in the field of education, including many years teaching U.S. history at Flagstaff High School. Judy lived selflessly and received her greatest joy from seeing those around her - including her students - live well and thrive. She loved reading and quilting, and donated dozens of her hand-made quilts to the Linus blanket project. Judy is survived by her loving husband of nearly 51 years, David Lorenz, her two beloved daughters, Tracy Evans and Tamlin Lorenz, and her son-in-law, Tim and grandson Sean. Memorial donations may be made in Judy's name to Project Linus or to the Johns Hopkins center on pancreatic cancer.

Our beloved neighbors for many years, Judy and Dave Lorenz were another pair of grandparents to our girls. She and Dave would have them over often for always a fun afternoon. As they were growing up, she had a tea set they would play with and coloring and hide and seek. Always so encouraging, giving and kind to all of us, she will always be remembered and loved by or family ♡♡♡♡

My dear friend, Judy. We became friends when we were neighbors in Flagstaff. The friendship continued, all the while growing in closeness. She gladly & happily helped me with quilting problems. Judy was always pleasant, caring, and gentle. We shared easy laughter. Even during her illness, she never spoke with sadness about it, silently encouraging me to do the same.
I will miss you always, Judy.

Such a beautiful lady. I spent years admiring her gorgeous hair. How fortunate I am to have known her and been her friend. We shared alot of special times. My heart breaks. I will miss her. Sincerely, Linda Baca
