Sonja Kroll Obituary
Phoenix - Sonja Elizabeth Kroll, 80, of Phoenix passed away on October 11, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Fredric Arthur Kroll, DDS. Survivors include her daughter Lisa Casto, sons John Fredric Kroll, both of Phoenix, and Steven Dodd Kroll of Los Angeles, grandchildren Joshua Casto (Oregon), Jace Hochstetler (Phoenix, Lisa Casto), Natasha Kroll (Washington State), three great-granddaughters, Morgan, Brooke, and Evelyn.
Sonja majored in Art at ASU, which was her passion and was an accomplished artist having paintings in galleries in Scottsdale and Sedona.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to Alzheimers Foundation at https://alzfdn.org/support-us/donate/ Condolences may be expressed at www.whitneymurphyfuneralhome.com

I am sadden beyond belief to hear about the passing of a woman who had brighten my days in so many ways!

Dodd was a member of our extended family for many years before we met Sonja. We knew right away she would be family too. We were honored to be the witnesses at their wedding, as Dodd had been best man at our wedding when he was in the Navy.
We have so many beautiful memories of our times together. Sonja was a talented artist and decorator, and a wonderful cook and hostess. Everyone was made to feel welcome in their home. She was a dear, dear friend and we feel blessed by her friendship.
When her beloved Dodd passed away so unexpectedly, life became more and more difficult and her health worsened. It is hard to say goodbye, but we know she is now free of pain and at peace.
We send our condolences to her children and grandchildren, and to her many friends and admirers.

Forever thankful for Sonja as a wonderful and loving grandmother to Natasha and for all the beautiful holidays we spent at her home.
She was an amazing artist and will also be remembered by the many paintings she created during her life.
