I just returned to Phoenix and learned of Bob's passing. I remember the many parties at my parent's house with all the coaches and their wives and how fun Bob was. He was fun and funny and always so warm and kind! And he had such a distinctive voice and laugh! I can hear him even now. My father was very lucky in all the assistants he had! I send my deepest condolences to all of his family. Sincerely, Kelley Hogan (Shanty's youngest daughter)

So grateful to this man for helping to raise me from 9 yrs old through college! Taught me so much but especially to be adventurous & have fun(which I’ve never stopped) Great college memories of Mexico and laughing til we cried. Much love & appreciation to my 2nd “Dad”. Always thinking of you with a big grin & a giggle! Until we meet again....

Dear sylvia, all of us who played football at Phoenix College when he was our defensive coach loved him. i played on offense in 1964 and remember the times he would assume a defensive lineman's position (no helmet or pads) and show them how to take on one of our offensive lineman. what a site. he would get mad at the offensive lineman if he didn't go after him like they were supposed to. he was full of life and always had his great laugh. we were national champions in 1964 because he was a champion. love to the hantla family. craig liston
