Joan Ann Lazzati, of Towson, MD passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5 at Gilchrist Hospice. Born December 4, 1956, she was the fifth of ten children of Jim and Rosemary Lazzati. Preceded in death by her father, James Peter Lazzati. Survived by her mother - Rosemary C. Lazzati, and brothers and sisters: James Lazzati of Glyndon; Joseph and Susan Lazzati of Finksburg; John Lazzati of Upperco; Philip and Pilar Lazzati of Towson; Paul Lazzati of Towson; Virginia Burgstiner of Bethany Beach, DE; Mary Lazzati of Perry Hall; Rosemarie "Dodie" Lazzati and Curtis Filler of Perry Hall; Tom and Margaret Downs of Laurel; Dolores Cowan of Upperco; and thirteen nieces and nephews. Also survived by her boyfriend of 10 years, Chuck Edwards. Joan was devoted to her family and a wide array of friends and was a champion to those in need. She will be remembered by family and friends as a strong and heroic person with a kind and generous heart. A graduate of Mercy High School and Villa Julie College, Joan had a successful career in real estate and as a business owner. Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Rd. (beltway exit 26) on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Associated Italian American Charities scholarship fund in her name.

I am so sorry to hear of Joan's passing. We went to St. Matthews's on Loch Raven together. She was always such a good friend. I don't know why she has passed away, but it really made me sad when I read it. My prayers are with the Lazzati family. I am so so sorry for you loss.
