I am so sorry to learn of Bud's passing. He was my student teaching supervisor in 1989, but we kept in touch through the years. I learned a great deal from Bud, and I still think of him fondly even now in my 30th year of teaching. Sending you sympathy this first holiday season without him.

I am very sorry for your loss. Bud was truly a good soul and a powerful force of kindness, civility, generosity of time, spirit, charity, and unceasingly uplifting toward everyone around him. A life was brighter with him in it, for sure. I was touched in the best of ways by having him play a small part in my life, and I imagine I wasn't alone.
He was a man dedicated to learning, education, new experience, peace, love, thoughtfulness and kindness. There just aren't many who can express those things as genuinely as he could. It was a real art, skill, or natural disposition of his.
I feel forever an improved person having known him and attempting to emulate those character traits that came so naturally to him.

Dear Sara and Jon,
I was very saddened to read about the passing of your wonderful father. Dr. Cornell was the Principal at Stoneleigh Elementary when I did my student teaching experience. He was an outstanding Principal and a valued mentor to all teachers. I will always remember him as an intelligent, kind, effective educator. His contributions to the elementary school community of Baltimore County benefited greatly from his expertise.
May he rest in peace.

Sara & Jon and family, So sorry for the loss of your beloved father. Dr Bud was a welcome face at Shady Spring Elem. when your mother was Principal. They both were so influential in my volunteerism with BCPS, even to this day. I thank both of your parents for that and their commitment to students of Baltimore County. May he Rest In Peace, reunited with his beloved Lu Beth.

Your dad was a dear, sweet man, always the teacher, ready to guide and encourage. May your hearts be comforted by the thought that there are ever so many people out in the world who knew him, some well, some only casually. However, all remember him with love in their hearts and a kind thought for each of you. Baltimore County is a richer place for his having been here, and a sadder place without Bud Cornell.
