Michael Lawrence McGuire

Michael Lawrence McGuire, 18, of Lutherville MD, passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2026. He leaves behind a community of family, friends, mentors, teachers, caregivers, and loved ones who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Mike was known for his kind soul, creativity, quick wit, and natural ability to make people laugh. He had a determined spirit and loved figuring out how things worked. Much like his father at the same age, Mike had a deep passion for cars and enjoyed working on them whenever he could. He also loved building and fixing things with his hands - from repairing the wooden merry-go-round his great-grandfather had built to crafting beautiful walking sticks.

Mike embraced adventure and had a deep love for the outdoors. Some of his happiest moments were spent on family trips to Shenandoah, camping in Western Maryland with friends, fishing at Loch Raven or visiting Pats Folly. No matter where he was, Mike felt most at home surrounded by nature.

He attended Towson High School and later began working as a promising plumbing and HVAC apprentice, where his work ethic and eagerness to learn quickly made an impression on those around him.

Though his time here was far too short, the impact Mike made on the people who knew and loved him will last a lifetime. He will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his stepmother, Kathryn Troeschel; stepbrother, Alex Troeschel; grandparents, Ann McGuire, Steve McGuire, and Christina and Paul Troeschel; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick McGuire.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, March 19, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc.. Mike will be cremated, and the visitation will serve as a time for friends and family to gather, remember him, and celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation or Hope for Grieving Families
