Allan S. Brubaker, DVM, of Maineville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, December 23, 2024 at the age of 77. He was born on February 17, 1947 in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Robert F. Brubaker and Esther L. (nee Sadler) and raised in Eaton, Ohio. It was there that he met the love of his life, Betsy L. (nee Clayton) Brubaker, whom he married in 1968. Their love story of 64 years is a true testament to their enduring bond and devotion to one another and serves as an example to others of what a marriage can be.
Allan earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University, a place he held dear throughout his whole life. After completing his studies, Allan and Betsy made their home in Montgomery, Ohio, where he practiced Veterinary medicine for nearly 50 years.
Allan's greatest joy was the family he and Betsy made together. He was the most loving and supportive father to their four children: Kimberly (Paul) Stelmack, Kerri (Jason) Johnson, Kelly (Chris) Karpinsky, and Robert (Jennifer) Brubaker. Allan was the grandfather of Allison (Satya) Ghanta, Carley (Adam) Freeland, Maci Stelmack, Emma Stelmack, Zachary Johnson, Melanie Johnson, Lindsey Johnson, Ryan Brubaker, and Kyle Brubaker. Allan was the great grandfather to Reece Ghanta, Luca Ghanta, Dawson Berryhill, and Sloane Freeland. Allan, through his word, or by his example, was always there to champion their dreams, guide them through challenges, and celebrate their successes.
A proud and passionate OSU Buckeyes fan, Allan's enthusiasm for sports carried over into coaching youth football, basketball, and baseball, becoming a trusted mentor to many young athletes. Through his guidance he instilled the values of hard work, perseverance, and good sportsmanship, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.
Allan's curious mind and intellect were evident in his love for reading. It wasn't uncommon to find him juggling three books, diving into mysteries, history, biographies, and non-fiction sports, all with equal passion.
Allan will be remembered for his quiet strength, boundless kindness, and selfless generosity. His caring spirit touched everyone who was fortunate to cross his path. He embraced his family with an open heart, always putting their needs above his own and leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and devotion.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241. A private funeral service and graveside ceremony will be held the following day.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Allan's honor to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org. Online condolences may also be shared at www.MRFH.com.
