Donald's Obituary

Donald David Dearwester Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born January 20th, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Donald David and Evelyn (nee Borman) Dearwester.  In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his Beloved Brothers: Daniel Dearwester, Thomas Dearwester, Terry Dearwester, and Arthur Bauman and his Cherished Sisters: Donna Dearwester and Kathy Bauman.; His Beloved In laws: Donald and Viola Jean Smith; and Frank and Catherine Schmidt.

Donald is survived by his loving husband of 50 years, Michael Smith, and Former Wife and Beloved Mother of Don's children, Carol Jean Witt and his 3 beloved Children: Joe Dearwester (Beth), Heidi Dearwester Holland (Joseph Meyer) and Lori Dearwester Vice.

Cherished Grandchildren: Travis and Jamie Smith, Robyn Gutierrez, Darren Holland, Dustin and Jessica Holland, Ross and Ashley Smith, Catherine Ervin and Anthony Kalberg, Scott and Mia Dearwester, Kristina Dearwester, Megan Ervin, Alexander Ervin,  Ivy Schmidt and MaryEllen Sawyer;  Precious Great Grandchildren: Anthony Smith, Natalie Holland, Morgyn Wempe, Heidi Holland, Bailey Smith, Jocelyn Holland, Noah Kalberg, Julian Holland, John William Baker V,  Brody Smith, Lucas Holland, Hope Kalberg, Madyson Wempe, Rose Kalberg, Ava Kalberg, Olyvia Wempe, Prestyn Smith, Isabella Dearwester, Madeline Arnold, Wren Kalberg and Scotty Dearwester.

Donald also leaves cherished Brothers and Sisters: Kenneth Dearwester, Peggy Dearwester, Nancy Dearwester, Dean Dearwester, Bobby Dearwester as well as cherished Brothers and Sisters-in-law:  Donald Smith Jr., Rhonda Ranney, Lester Smith, Judy Dearwester and Donna Dearwester.

Donald also leaves many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many dear friends.

Donald was a devoted Son, Husband and Father. He served our country in the U.S. Army. He held many patents from his work at Proctor and Gamble for 30 years. He loved life and making people laugh. He enjoyed traveling the world and creating beautiful spaces. He was a pet lover who had many precious pets and will be missed by his Cat Nikki. He lived an amazing creative life and contributed a great deal to all of our lives.

Visitation will take place Saturday, September 27th, 2025, from 9:00a.m until time of Funeral Service at 11:00a.m., both at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45241. Entombment to follow immediately following Service at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Donald’s honor may be made to the United Ostomy Association of America.
