Mr. Hirt was my neighbor years ago. He was such a nice, friendly man and had such an infectious smile and laugh. I was sad to see that he passed. May he rest in peace and my thoughts and prayers go out to Mrs. Hirt, Jason and Jamie.

Edward J. Hirt, 75, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, November 25th, 2024 at his home in Reading, Ohio where he was surrounded by the love of his family. He was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio by the late Joseph and Helen (Handley) Hirt.
Devoted husband of 52 years to his wife, Kathy (Barry) Hirt; father of Jason and Jamie Hirt; grandfather of Jackson and Jaeger Hirt. Edward was always present for his family as their provider and supportive mentor. He loved cooking, coaching baseball and attended countless sporting events.
Edward graduated from Purcell Marian High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. He worked as a plumber for many years before his retirement from Good Samaritan Hospital. Edward also served as a volunteer with the Reading Fire Department. Everyone who was lucky enough to know Edward will miss his jovial presence!
Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of service at 11:00 am Thursday, December 5th at St Paul Lutheran Church, 106 Maple St, Reading, OH 45215 with Pastor Emily Beckering officiating. A reception will follow. Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home is honored to assist with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.mrfh.com
