Eugene "Gene" Wesseler

We were good friends at Purdue working in the E. T. McBee research group on our PhDs, playing chess on our lunch hours in the lab, and fighting the occasional fire eruption when an experiment went wrong. I was sorry to lose track of him after we graduated and life got busy and chaotic, and I am sorry to learn about his passing, now. I'm glad I had the chance to know him. He was always an exceptional scholar, chemist, and friend.
