Frederick Steven Kern, Sr. "Steve" age 54 of Orchard Lane, Moorefield, WV, formerly of Westminster, MD, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 18, 2012 at his residence. Born January 15, 1958 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Walter Lindberg Kern & Mary Ann (Cool) Kern. Two brothers preceded him in death.Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Susan (Petenbrink) Kern; two sons, Frederick Steven Kern, Jr. & Jay Alan Kern of Moorefield, WV; four daughters, Crystal Kern & Brittany Whittaker of Moorefield, WV, Amanda Kern of Mathias, WV and Jo Anne Parsons of Millersville, MD; three brothers, William Kern of Westminster, MD, Ronnie Kern of Coolsville, OH and Gene Kern of Hanover, PA; a sister, Mary Ann Thompson of York, PA and ten grandchildren.Funeral Services will be conducted 7:00 PM Tuesday evening, November 20, 2012 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St. with Pastor Gregg Hammond officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 – 7 PM prior to services.The family will receive friends from 2 -4 & 6 – 8 PM Friday at the Fletcher Funeral Home, 254 E Main St, Westminster, MD. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Fletcher Funeral Home and interment will follow at the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hampstead, MD.
