Dear Donnelly Family; I am so sorry to hear about George passing away. I wish I had known earlier as I would have attended the services. Growing up in the neighborhood makes us all sisters and brothers. He was a good guy and may he rest in peace.

George H. Donnelly Jr., 52, lifelong Manchester resident, husband of Carol A. (Hornat) Donnelly, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Bridgeport Hospital. George was born in Manchester on March 13, 1959, son of the late George H. Donnelly and Anita (Garcia) Donnelly. He graduated from Manchester High School, served in the US Army, was a former employee of Whole Foods Corporation in Ellington, and was currently employed by ShopRite in Manchester. With his wife, George is survived by two brothers and a sister, James G. Donnelly and his wife Donna, Michael P. Donnelly, and Susan L. Donnelly and her husband Jay Hedlund, all of Manchester; his nieces and nephews, Jack, Jenna, Kate, and Sam; Carol's children, Dan, Alvin, and Irene, and his longtime canine companion "Missy". Memorial visiting hours will be held Friday, July 1, from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester. Burial will be private in the Donnelly family lot in the East Cemetery in Manchester. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
