Glenn Stewart Procter, 63, beloved husband to Sarah Rebecca Busken, passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2026 in Drachten, The Netherlands. Born in Nelson, Lancashire, England on May 10, 1962, Glenn was the fourth of five children to the late Wilfred Peter and Enid (Bentley) Procter. He is survived by his four children- Annamarie (Ashton), Sean (Jamie-Lee), Stephen (Angie), and Lily-Rose -and by his stepsons Gabriel and Lorenzo. He was a dear brother to Mary Cook and Karl Procter and was preceded in death by his sister, Eileen Wilcock and brother Raymond Procter. He was an adoring grandfather to Molly, Macey, Jake, and Kimmy Procter.
Raised by his dear auntie Joyce Bentley Procter, Glenn was known for his mechanical skills, independence, and strong work ethic which he developed at a young age. He attended Alder Grange High School and spent most of his life in the Rawtenstall Valley. Over the years he worked refurbishing industrial machines, driving trucks, installing sound and lighting systems, and even DJing before founding his own business, Rossendale Valley Appliance Repair, which he ran successfully for over 20 years.
Glenn met Sarah in 2019, and upon discovering they shared the same birthday, it felt like fate. They were married that same year in The Netherlands and Glenn spent his last six years living in that beautiful country where he quickly felt at home. Even after a prostate cancer diagnosis (shortly before his marriage to Sarah), Glenn faced life with courage, humor, and faith. In 2020, he was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Glenn and Sarah were sealed to each other for time and all eternity in the Indianapolis, Indiana temple in 2021. He found strength and joy in his faith and blessed the youth of the Church with his positive example and influence.
Without a doubt, there was no greater sense of true love than what was shared between Glenn and Sarah. She was the fond recipient of his steady, unwavering love and companionship. They were perfectly matched in harmony and devotion.
Glenn possessed a rare gift: he truly noticed people. He had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued, and understood. When he walked into a room, the mood shifted. People gathered closer, stories were shared and laughter followed. He had a way of making every space feel more alive just by being there.
His wisdom, kindness, humor, and ability to connect deeply touched friends, family, and youth alike. He loved life’s simple pleasures: woodworking, bringing broken things back to life, writing on his laptop, following the news of the world, taking long drives, making a ‘brew’ to take along, and every small joy that was shared with those he loved.
Glenn leaves behind a legacy of love for his dear family and friends. He brought warmth and laughter, and his presence filled every room with light. Although he will be deeply missed, his genuine love, warm guidance, and the gift of connection he gave to others will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
Sarah and family will receive guests on Saturday, January 31 starting at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5505 Bosworth Pl., Cincinnati Ohio, 45212. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM.
