Harry's Obituary

Harry R. Gleis, age 84, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021. He was born October 15, 1936 to the late Edward “Bud” and Lillian (nee Boutet) Gleis.

Harry was born and raised in Norwood, Ohio. He and his loving wife of 58 years, the late Maurene (nee Green) Gleis, established a home in Sharonville and later moved to Loveland, where their family has lived and loved for 50 years. Harry served our country in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Campbell and, more briefly, at Ft. Knox.

He is survived by his son, Mark Gleis; granddaughters, Chelsea (Alex) Harbin and Maddy Gleis; great granddaughter, Willa Grace Harbin; brother, Ronnie Gleis; stepbrother, Kevin (Mary) Ellis; stepsister, Paula Schiml; along with nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who have become family.

Harry was a loyal, strong-willed, hardworking family man with a kind, generous, and loving heart. He developed his own skills as a woodworker, building furniture, clocks, birdhouses, and many other cherished family heirlooms. Though often a man of few words, he used them to love boldly and bring about joy with his quick witted responses. Most of all, he adored being known as “Papa Harry” by his granddaughters and passing along, to them, his many bits of wisdom attained throughout his life.

Visitation will be 10-11 AM, Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241 where funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM, immediately following the visitation. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Harry’s honor to Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org. Online condolences may be shared at www.mrfh.com.
