Hedy Katharyn Shouse Barnett, age 92, wife of the late Jake “J.R.” Barnett, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025 at her home in Anderson County. Hedy was born June 25, 1933 in Frankfort, Kentucky to the late Richard Berry Shouse and Elizabeth Vandiver Mayewski.
Hedy was a member of Fairview Christian Church and a former employee with Jim Beam Brands Distillery, retiring after 30 years of employment. Hedy was an avid reader, but she also enjoyed being on the go, looking for a good Peddler Mall to visit.
Including her husband and parents, Hedy was preceded in death by her son, Lowell Wayne Barnett; and her siblings, Mary Evelyn Shouse Campbell, James Thomas “Tommy” Shouse, Johnny B “J.B.” Shouse and Joan Lee Shouse.
Hedy is survived by her two daughters, Glenda Gay and Libby Ann Goodlett (Drew), all of Lawrenceburg; her grandchildren, Taylor Westerfield, Brent Campbell and Dawn Cheek; great grandchildren, Cory Doss, Brey Gorrell and Magnolia Westerfield; and several great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Al Peach officiating. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 5 – 8 P.M. and Wednesday from 9 A.M. till time of service at 1:00 P.M.
