Janet Reinhold Clements, born July 6, 1965, to the late Charlotte and James Reinhold, passed away on March 13, 2025, at the age of 59. She was the beloved twin sister of Joanne (Paul Lutmer) Reinhold, and cherished sibling of Judy Reinhold, James (Kim) Reinhold, Thomas (Laura) Reinhold, Dorothy (Greg Mullins) Reinhold, Diane (Chris) Goddard, and Barbara (Tom Frey) Reinhold. Janet was a loving aunt of Matthew (Courtney) Reinhold, Ellen (Jack) Riley, Mark (Emily) Reinhold, Ben (Danielle) Reinhold, Marybeth (Conor) Cunov, Emma (Logan Porter) Mullins, the late J. Colby Goddard, Adam (Rachel) Goddard, Grace Goddard, Catherine (Sam Lantry) Frey, Luke and Anna Frey, Kelly (Eric Whitley) Lutmer, Alex (fiancé Caroline Berger) Lutmer, and Scott Lutmer.
Janet is survived by her seven siblings and their spouses. She was devoted to each of them, not only sharing special times, but she loved any reason to be together. They were all her best friends, and each felt like they were Janet’s favorite because of her caring heart and special bond with each of them. Janet was a constant support to all of them; always compassionate and caring. For her twin sister Joanne, spending life together as twins was a gift they both treasured throughout their lives. They enjoyed an inseparable connection, doing everything in life together.
Janet was raised in Bond Hill and graduated from Purcell Marian High School. She went on to graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics. After graduation, she became a Registered Dietician and began her professional career.
Janet had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and loved. She cherished her nieces and nephews. All held a very special place in her heart. She was an active presence in their lives, attending numerous birthday parties, school events, graduations, weddings, always beaming with pride and love. She spent countless hours creating or shopping to select the perfect gifts for them and as a devoted Godmother to several, nurtured their faith with unwavering dedication.
Janet was fun, funny, sometimes silly, caring, loving, compassionate, understanding, devoted, intensely loyal, and a dear friend to everyone she encountered. She liked laughing and sharing stories. She was honest, hard-working and took great care of herself and those around her. She liked daily exercise, and daily reading from the newspaper, books, magazines, and online sources. She was a regular at her local library always finding something that interested her. She would often pick up things for our Mom, or her sisters and share it with them.
She liked travel. Whether it was traveling to a city an hour away or traveling to distant countries on other continents. She was always up for a shopping trip with one of her sisters. Whether it was making the rounds on a Saturday morning, or grocery shopping, all of it was better when shared with a sister.
She was devoted to taking care of our parents. Especially our Mom after our Dad passed away. She called Mom three times a day to remind her to take her medicines, to check on her, and to let her know she cared and was there if she needed anything.
Janet cherished her neighbors and took joy in cooking and sharing meals with them, savoring many years of driveway and backyard chats. During her over three-decade career with the City of Cincinnati Health Department WIC program, she forged deep bonds with colleagues, whom she held dear as lifelong friends. Her work focused on less privileged families to make sure all got off to a strong nutritional start.
Outside of work, Janet enjoyed many hobbies including basket making, sewing, gardening, needleworking and reading. Many of her hobbies resulted in treasures passed on for others to enjoy. She helped new moms with advice about their newborns and caring for them drawing on her many years of professional work.
Her ministry was cooking for others. She showed her love and took care of others by cooking healthy meals for them. For anyone going through hard times or happy times like a health problem, or the birth of a baby, she was the first to provide a meal.
For the past two years, Janet faced her illness with unimaginable strength. Together, we did what families do, we supported her and each other. We walked together and held her up as she did for us her whole life. She was our angel. Our bright light. Our hearts are shattered, and she will be profoundly missed.
