Jefferd Earl Frugé, Jr., 65, of Lake Charles passed away suddenly on September 27, 2017 at his residence.
Jefferd was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a 1971 graduate of LaGrange High School and graduate of SOWELA technical institute. Jefferd proudly served the citizens of Calcasieu Parish, retiring with over 20 years of active service with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. While serving he was honored with the distinction of being named correctional officer of the year in 2006.
Jefferd volunteered his time as the committee chair of St. Margaret Boy Scout Troop 208. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Margaret Catholic Church and a volunteer for Abraham’s Tent and a member of the sons of American Legion. In 1978, Jeff and Theresa were a host family for the first Ulster Project, hosting John Lee, an irish teen from Northern Ireland at their home in Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Nicholas Joseph Frugé and Austin Scott Frugé; and parents, Jefferd Earl (Sr.) and LouAnn Cormier Frugé.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Theresa Delcambre Frugé; son, ABE2(AW/SW) Frugé, Jefferd Earl (III) of NAS Whiting Field, and Tiffany Castleberry, of Milton, Florida; brother, Mitchell Ray Frugé; sisters, Paula Rogers (Karl), Charlotte McInnis and Regina Weaver (Chuck); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will resume on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Johnson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be observed at 11:00 AM on Saturday September 30, 2017 at St. Margaret Catholic Church with Father Marcus Johnson serving as celebrant. Deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s office will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be at Frey Cemetery near Mowata, Louisiana.
