Obituary

Joanne's Obituary

Joanne Sanoian passed away on March 22, 2014 at the age of 63, after a long bout with lung cancer.Joanne was born in Fresno, California on November 7, 1950 along with her twin brother, Jerry, to very proud parents, Albert and Evelyn Sanoian. She was raised on the Sanoian?s Blackstone Ave. property with siblings Steve, Leonard and Donna. Her life on the home property was filled with great times with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins visiting often. She attended Wolters and Del Mar elementary schools, Tenaya Jr. High and Bullard High School. She made friends easily and many of those friends remained in touch throughout her life. Joanne majored in criminology at Fresno State, graduating in 1972 magna cum laude. She worked for the Department of Social Services in Fresno for several years; before long, her desire to assist those in need of family services, led her to pursue a law degree. She attended San Joaquin College of law, receiving her juris doctorate in 1982. Joanne belonged to the State Bar of California and the Fresno County Bar Association. Friends from Law School became lifelong supporters and personal friends. She was loved and respected among her peers. She began her career with the law firm of Staniford, Harris & Loomis before becoming a partner with John Loomis & John F. Garland. In 1995, she established The Law Offices of Joanne Sanoian. Her practice blossomed and her office staff became an important part of her daily personal life. Joanne brought her warm and reassuring manner to both her professional and personal relationships. If a client was troubled or upset, she had a way of calming them and assuring them that things would work out. She was unusual in her ability to listen without judgment. She always had time for people in trouble and cared about them. Joanne was always there for family and friends. She cared deeply about both. She reached out to people who weren?t coping and tried hard to help everyone get along. If you had a problem, she always had time for you. On August 22, 2005, Joanne married John Fino and instantly gained a son Jarret, daughter-in-law Sonia and granddaughters Jenelle and Tatiana, Julieana and Siena. She always enjoyed travelling and especially loved trips taken together with the Fino family. She supported their sports and school activities and added her personal touch when celebrating any and all special occasions. Joanne is survived by her husband, John Fino; mother, Evelyn Sanoian; brother, Steve and wife Lynne; brother, Leonard; sister, Donna and husband Chuck Perry; brother, Jerry and wife Vivian; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her faithful canine companion, Lucy, gave her unconditional love and joy.Joanne will be missed by all. A huge void has been left with her absence. We have all learned and benefited so much from her life, and for that we are forever grateful. (And now it's Time to Say Goodbye.....)Visitation will be held at Yost & Webb Funeral Home on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a Home Service at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel.A Funeral Service will be held at the St. Paul Armenian Church on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 am.
