Not sure what to say?

My mother's birthday is on the 17th of August. I miss her dearly, but I am so glad we had a big celebration for her birthday last year:)

We will be having a celebration of life for my mother (Kamala) on March 29, 2025 at the Lone Peak indoor pavilion in Sandy Utah. Starting at 6pm-9ish pm. Taco truck will be there from 6-8. Hope to see you there!

Kamala was among the first new friends I met at the Sandy Center pottery group. Her spirit of love, friendship and acceptance was felt by us all. She will be missed.

I will miss Kamala a lot- her warm spirit, love, compassion and humor always touched my heart. She was a unique and fun person, a one of a kind. Now she can look over us all. My sympathies to her family.

Kamala's Obituary

Kamala Dass (Patricia Padgen)

August 17, 1943 - February 17, 2025

It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life fully lived that we announce the passing

of Kamala Dass, also known as Patricia Padgen. Born on August 17, 1943, in Bingham Canyon,

Kamala lived a remarkable life marked by her fierce determination, boundless love, and

unyielding quest for spiritual and personal growth. Throughout her life, Kamala was known as a

loving mother, devoted sister, and cherished friend. Her journey was one of continual self-discovery

and transformation. Ever in search of her true calling, she once humorously described

herself as a "recovering Catholic," until she found her spiritual home in Tibetan Buddhism. For

the last ten years of her life, Kamala was an integral member of the Urygen Samten Ling Sangha,

where she experienced profound peace and belonging. A vibrant presence in her community,

Kamala was deeply involved with the Senior Center, where she nurtured her passion for pottery.

While she generously shared her perfect works of art with friends and family, the pieces she

considered "imperfect" were placed under the spirit tree in her yard, which her oldest daughter

Kimberly would take home saying they all were perfect. Beyond her artistic talents, Kamala was

a compassionate soul, corning into this life as an empath. She was a self-taught doctor and

psychologist whose commitment to easing the suffering of others was evident in all her

interactions. Her strength, determination, and candid nature meant she never hesitated to stand up

for what she believed in, leaving an indelible mark on friends, family, and community members

alike. Kamala's home was a haven where laughter, stories, and heartfelt conversations flowed

freely-a place where family and friends gathered to celebrate life and share unforgettable

adventures. She had difficulties expressing her heart, but felt love and appreciation for her

grandchildren, however, this message goes to them now and forever.

Survived by Kimberly Ann Rosenlund and Leigh Ann Marsh (daughters), Richard Banks, Nick

Rosenlund, Ian Marsh, Gage Marsh, Orion Jameson (grandsons), Kyleigh Ann Rosenlund

(granddaughter), Aubrey Rosenlund, Opal Marsh, Theo Marsh (great granddaughters), Dakota

and Jayden Banks, Dominick Rosenlund (great grandsons), and Paula Grotti (sister) and Ivan

Prochko (nephew).

Special thanks to Lama Thupten Rinpoche Dorje Gyaltsen, Lama Palden, and Debbie Walker.

A Celebration of life will be March 29, 2025, so be ready to party people.
