Leslie (AKA Lekili in Hawaiian). She so enjoyed Jack Lord in (among other things) Hawaii 5-0. No other teacher taught History the way she could--and oh my--did she love Williamsburg. I remember her so fondly. She was my teacher and my friend.

Leslie was my 7th and 8th grade homeroom teacher at OLSH. My love of history began in her classroom as she passionately shared the history of our country, even wearing colonial costume. I became a social studies teacher in part because of her. She also coached basketball and cheerleading. At a time when girls sports was just taking off, I can still remember how she taught us the “no look” pass. We won the city championship under her leadership. OLSH girls basketball 1977-1978

Leslie was a great teacher and started a life long interest in US history for me. She was our basketball coach in 8th grade when we won the City Championship. Leslie still referred to us as "my team" whenever our paths crossed. Leslie was one of the greatest teachers. I had the privilege of having her for homeroom in both 7th and 8th grades at OLSH. She not only taught the lessons from the curriculum, she also taught about life. I will always remember her not only as my teacher, but also as my cheerleading coach and basketball coach. Obituary

Leslie's Obituary

Leslie J. Willet passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born July 7th, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Irvin and Jane (Proctor) Willet. Leslie grew up in Reading where she was the valedictorian of her graduating high school class of 1964, and active in many activities from a young age. She has been a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Reading. 

Leslie earned her B.S. and B.A. degrees from the University of Cincinnati and, later, completed her M.Ed. from Xavier University. She was a master historian and a teacher for 40 years at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic School. 

Devoted spouse to her best friend since 1989, Teresa “Terri” DeAngelis; Loving bonus mom to Kristy (Nick) Georgiton and Stephanie Woebkenberg (Chris Grandy); proud grandmother of Owen Spencer Koerner, Grace Addison Koerner, Webb Grandy, Katie Georgtion, Ally Georgiton (Owen Hiatt), and Sophie Georgiton; sister of Lynne (Andy) Malyn and the late Todd Willet; special aunt to Morgan Malyn;  She was a fiercely loyal friend and was loved by so many throughout her lifetime.

Leslie held a strong sense of patriotism and supported many charitable organizations including; Colonial Williamsburg, Burgess Foundation, ASPCA, and St. Jude Chidren’s Research Hospital. She was fond of Star Trek, Thomas Jefferson, JFK, John Ruthven art, and spending time at the beach. We will deeply miss her intelligence, generosity, and loving heart! 

Visitation will be 3-5 PM Friday, December 20th at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241. A memorial service will begin following the visitation at 5 PM. Friends and family will be invited to a reception following the service at the funeral home until 8 PM. Online condolences may be shared at www.MRFH.com
