Lois E. Viel (nee Schadel), of Sycamore Township, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the age of 90. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Curtis and Viola (Greenburger) Schadel. She was raised in the Oakley neighborhood and graduated from Withrow High School.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 65 years, Donald Viel; brother, Paul Schadel; and sister, Charlotte Naish.
Loving mother to son, Scott (Sheri) Viel; grandmother to Josh (Heidi) Viel and Jamie (Rodney) Beavers; great grandmother to Drew, Saylor, Jaxon, Hailey, and Emma; a very special aunt to her nieces and nephews.
Lois was a dedicated homemaker and caregiver for her family. She was a longtime member of Grace Bible Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, volunteering with Hospice of Cincinnati, and was often described as “so sweet.”
A memorial service will be held on March 19th, 2026 at Grace Bible Presbyterian Church, 12060 Lebanon Road, Sharonville, Ohio 45241. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with the service at 11:00 am.
