Not sure what to say?

I'll always cherish the memory of Mrs. Loretta, whose kind heart and unwavering resilience inspired everyone around her. She selflessly cared for others, and I adored our conversations - she always listened with compassion. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her legacy will be honored.

She was a sweetheart and a great person Loretta will be truly missed

I loved spending time talking with Miss Loretta getting to know her. We often talk about the Bible and sing the old hymns. We enjoyed playing bingo together. Thank you for allowing me to serve Miss Loretta.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Loretta's Obituary

Loretta (Jones) Poynter, longtime resident of Liberty Township, passed away  peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, May 20th 2025 at the age of 90. She often remarked that she couldn’t wait to rejoin her late husband, Rondal “Ron” Poynter. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky to the late Pearl and Polly (Harris) Jones. Loretta was also preceded in death by her siblings; Gillis Jones, Algin Jones, Nadine Smith, Arvil “Plow” Jones, and uncle, Chester Harris, whom they grew up with.

Loving and devoted mother to her children; the late Ricky Darrell Poynter, Janie (Jeff) McElwain and Ronda Lacher; adoring grandmother to Jeremy McElwain, Joshua (Madeleine) McElwain, Richard “Kyle” Lacher and Jacob (Nancy) Lacher; “Great Granny” to Rhys, Quinn, Luke and Elijah. Family was the focus of Loretta’s life including her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. In her eyes, her grandsons could do NO wrong. Loretta cherished any opportunity to feed her family and other people. She was a natural hostess which carried over into her work outside her home at the former Kings Island Inn for many years.

Visitation will be 10 am-12 pm Wednesday, May 28th at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon following the visitation.
