Sending my love and prayers to Susan and her children. Family was important to Sam and even though we haven't seen each other in years, we always keep in contact. I am going to miss him, may he rest in peace

My mother (his great aunt) was responsible for his name, "Sam"! When we went in to see him soon after his birth, and he gave her his famous smile--she exclaimed, "Well, aren't you a Sociable Sam!?" And it fit him, and the name stuck. My cousin Sam was a charming, kind, and all-around great person. He will be missed.

Lowell Wesley “Sam” Leming, born July 18, 1954, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away suddenly on December 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, integrity, and quiet strength that will be remembered by all who knew him.
Known affectionately as “Sam”, he was valued for his kind heart, and unwavering dedication to his family. Survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Susan (née Freeman), their three children: Michael (Stephanie), Gregory, and Sarah, and beloved grandchildren: Avery (11), Turner (9), and Gracin (1). Family and friends were at the center of Sam’s life, as a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a proud grandfather who found immense joy in time spent with all who will cherish his memory.
Sam was born to the late Lowell “William” Leming and Jennie Vaske (née Harrison). After his mother remarried, he then gained a supportive stepfather, late Carl Vaske. He was preceded in death by his older sister, Anna Leming.
As a proud United States Navy Veteran, Sam served his country while acquiring a strong sense of duty, discipline, and commitment. It was during his military service that he developed his appreciation for travel and exploration—interests that continued to enrich his life.
Finding happiness in the simple joys of everyday life, Sam especially enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, and fishing; always finding peace in the outdoors. As a lifelong Cincinnati Bengals fan, Sam rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his team. Who Dey! Additionally, his deep passion for a wide variety of music brought him joy and comfort throughout his life.
A service to honor Sam’s life will take place Saturday, January 10th, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., both at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45142.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
