Marilyn literally lit up with pride when she talked about her children and her family. They are her greatest legacy. I can still picture her face when I would joke about the fact that she had...

Greatest mother a wretch like me could ask for, unconditionally loved by this woman, the "glue" that kept our family together and close to one another and our extended family!

Marilyn May Ritter, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Liberty Place Memory Care. A celebration of life service will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.
Marilyn was born May 11, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Harrison and Marion (McWeeny) Butz. In addition to her parents, Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, J. Larry Ritter, as well as James W. Bingham.
Unconditionally Loving mother of Jerry, Bob, David (Kay) Bingham, and Maralee (David) Viox. Bonus Mom to Missy (Jeff) Towne and Keith Ritter.
Beloved Sister, Margaret Mary Fairbanks. Wonderful Cousin, Cecilia (Sheila) D. Young, and Life Long Sister-in-Law to Jane & Jeff Kalebain.
Adoring grandmother of Harrison (Bethany), Jessica (Fonz), Rob, Kellie (Gabe), Allie, Meredith, and Cecelia. As well as great-grandmother to Matteo, Emilio, Ben, and Lucca.
Marilyn also leaves nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as many dear friends including besties Pam and Ryan.
Marilyn attended Ursuline Academy from 1st -12th grade. She was a member of the Glee Club and enjoyed singing throughout her life, later joining the Sharonville Chorus. She attended the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music at Music Hall for a short time before marrying James Bingham. Jim and Marilyn took many trips together including a memorable trip out west with 3 young boys in 1972. (Yes, if you do the math right, they left 2-year-old Maralee at home with Grandparents!) Marilyn and Larry did a month-long trip out west in 1994 visiting Zion, Bryce Canyon, the Rocky Mountains, and Joshua Tree, ultimately ending on the coast of California. She enjoyed traveling and also went to Rome and Hawaii with her beloved sister and friends.
Marilyn is a woman who embodied fun. She Loved getting people together for parties! So much so that she spent her career helping plan, execute, and serve at parties, retiring from the Hilton Hotel in 1990. She continued to enjoy working and serving people at GE Golf Course for many years. Even at Liberty Place she kept that spirit of wanting to be helpful and providing excellent service!
Marilyn will be celebrated and remembered for her Loving and kind spirit, accepting and helping people just as they are, knowing the words to every song, and being the fun and cool Aunt. She has often said that her proudest accomplishment is her 4 children. She would also say that being a Mom is the hardest, most important, and most rewarding job. Her children could not have asked for a better Mom.
We Love You and we Love flowers but in lieu of flowers we kindly request donations be made to the Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease.
Family and friends are invited for Visitation on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025, from 10:30AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:45AM, both at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45241. Burial to follow service at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
