Grandpa I never got to know you even though I would have liked to of known you. I am your daughter Monica Francos youngest daughter. Am sorry to hear about your passing and will wait to meet you some day in heaven. My prayers and condolences go out to the family.

Melvin “Mel” Hughes Sharp, Sr., 81, passed away Monday December 18, 2017. Mr. Sharp was born December 2, 1936 to the late Alfred and Alma Mears Sharp. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one brother. Surviving are his wife Shelby Parsons Sharp; children Lisa (Jody) Jones, Chad Sharp (Fiancée Abigail Garnto), Melvin Hughes (Gina) Sharp, Jr., Michael Sharp, Monica (Juan) Franco; grandson Luke Jones; three sisters, one brother. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Saturday December 23, 2017 at Mountain View Baptist Church. His Funeral will be conducted at 3:00 PM following the visitation at the church by Rev. Tim Tucker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Gordon Hospice Home and Mountain Valley Hospice for the loving care given to Mr. Sharp. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Mountain View Baptist Church, 1232 Mountain View Church Rd. Hamptonville, NC 27020. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Sharp family.
