Not sure what to say?

As you rest in peace, with your family in heaven, I am tasked with walking on this earth until my work is done, and as I do, I will always remember you and your goodness. Thank you for everything you were to me and my boys. I Love you, Lisa

Dearest Anna and Ted,

Sophia and the Mountzuris families
My Deepest sympathy Sophia on the loss of your brother Michael....
Prayers and thoughts are with you at this most difficult time.... RIP MICHAEL

I was lucky to have married into his family. He was like an uncle to me. We spent many hours talking baseball, football, sports, and about life in general. You could understand why he raised good sons and grandsons.

A GOOD MAN. A FRIEND, TEACHER, MENTOR,
ALWAYS A KIND WORD. HE WILL BE MISSED

Mike and I started work at the Trade school in the same year. He was always a gentleman and he loved his students and his job. After, his retirement he returned frequently for vists. He was a bright spot in the lives of so many. His legacy is the impact he made on both teachers and students alike. He was one of those memorable people everyone was glad to know.

I will always remember Mr. Mountzuris for giving his all to teach how to succeed in his trade and life. A good man,a good friend! He will be missed.

RIP Mr. Mountzuris a guy great man to many. Always had a smile and was glad to see his old students I saw him last week and he said Travis I never thought you would have to pick me up. It was an honor to pick him up and help a man that has helped me and many others become men.

Ou Welding Class...Class of 87

I will miss Mr. Mountzuris. He was the best teacher I have ever had. I thought about him regularly through out my adult life. I will miss him dearly. RIP Monty

Michael's Obituary

CLINTON/LEOMINSTER

Michael A. Mountzuris, 88, of Leominster, formerly of Clinton, died peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2014 in Leominster Hospital, after a brief illness.

He leaves two sons: John M. Mountzuris, with whom he lived, and Theodore M. Mountzuris and his wife, Anna, of Byfield, MA; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Mountzuris, of Leominster; a sister, Sophia Moschos, of Dallas,  TX; and four grandchildren: Matthew, Marianthe, Andrew and Christopher.  He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Nicoletta (Gamvas) Mountzuris, who died in 2000, their son, Arthur M. Mountzuris, who died in 2001, and a brother, George Montouris, who died in 2011.

Michael was born in Georgoutsates, Northern Epirus, Greece, son of Arthur and Aristoula (Gazianis) Mountzuris, and was raised there until immigrating to the United States in 1938, at which time, he, his parents, and siblings settled in Clinton.  He was a 1981 Cum Laude graduate of Fitchburg State College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.

A skilled welder and pipefitter, Michael was a member of the Local 92 (later, Local 4) for more than 50 years, until the time of his death.  In 1972, he began teaching his trade to local union members, and in 1974, began teaching full-time at Leominster Trade High School.  He continued to teach in both capacities until retiring in 1990.  A man dedicated to his trade, and his students, Michael’s efforts were recognized many times, including a Certificate of Appreciation as an Instructor of Journeymen and Apprentices from Purdue University, and a Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Dedication and Contributions made as a teacher at Leominster Trade High School.  Through the years, he stayed in touch with many of his former students, and was truly proud of their accomplishments.

Michael was a devout member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Clinton.  A loving family man who worked hard to provide for his family, he most enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren.

Michael’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, with a service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 132 School St., Clinton.
