Paul C. Morse, Jr. passed away on September 21, 2017 after enduring multiple illnesses for the past three years. Paul was born October 12, 1947, the oldest child of Paul C. Sr., and Bette Talbot Morse. He was a professional interior designer and over a career of nearly fifty years enhanced the homes of many families in Topeka as principal designer at James Summers Interiors and Tindall’s Design Center, and in Farmington, New Mexico as co-owner of Morse-Fetterolf Interiors. In 1974, Paul met the love of his life, Boyd Fetterolf, and in May, 2017 they celebrated 43 years together. They were married in Council Bluffs, Iowa on November 25, 2013. Paul was a true artist and took great pleasure in creating interior spaces both for others as well as in the homes he and Boyd shared over the years. He enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful chef. He was exceptional at needlepoint, and won several ribbons for his work. Paul enjoyed playing Bingo, and even more being a Bingo caller. Paul loved animals of all kinds, but especially his “puppies”. Over the years, he was Dad to 12 miniature and toy poodles, all of whom lived long and loving lives. Paul read for Holy Orders and on December 14, 1985 he was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood of the Anglican Catholic Church, and served as the first full time Rector of St. Jude’s Parish in Farmington. He retired from the priesthood in 1995. After his retirement he re-entered the interior design profession, joining the staff of Gardner Floor Covering as their Interior Designer. Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, Darwin and Elsie Morse and Dr. Harrison B. and Mina Talbot, his parents, his brother Timothy and his mother- and father-in-law, Edward and Lucille Fetterolf. He is survived by his partner and husband, Boyd Fetterolf of the home, his sister Cindy Morse Miller and his brother Phillip Morse (Miriam Cox), sister- and brother-in-law Rhonda (Fred) Lowery, nieces Krista Miller, Samantha (Chris) Rowe, Camie (Kevin) Jones, Lisa Gann and Kimberly (Jess) Beal, as well as great nephews and nieces, Johne, Carson, JJ, Gabriel, Chance, Kaley, Fela, and Delilah. He is also survived by three puppies. Paul was a kind and gentle man, with a quick wit and sense of humor and great compassion for others. He was dearly and deeply loved and will be tenderly and lovingly missed. Paul will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Mount Hope Mausoleum.
