Richard Thomas “Dick” Hugenberg, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of October 6th, 2025 at the age of 89. He was born and raised in Hyde Park and Indian Hill by his late parents, John F. and Mary (Stayton) Hugenberg.
Devoted husband of 67 years to his wife, Patricia (Birk) Hugenberg; father of Michael (Kelly) Hugenberg, Suzy (the late Garry) Watt, Tommy (Tonia) Hugenberg, and Trisha Smith; grandfather of Drew (Gabby) Hugenberg, Matt Hugenberg, Annie Hugenberg, Christopher (Jessica) Watt, Patrick (Becky) Watt, Savannah Hugenberg, Kelsey Smith, and Brandon Smith; great grandfather of Abigail Hugenberg, Grayson Watt, Harper Watt, Jordan Watt, and Bryson Watt; brother of the late Jack Hugenberg, the late Jodi Penrod, and Don (Missy) Hugenberg; among his many extended family and friends.
Dick graduated from Purcell Marian High School. He attended Xavier University before completing his studies in dentistry at Ohio State University. Following his years in practice, he purchased a tool sharpening business which his family continues.
Dick was devout in his Catholic faith and embodied the fruits of the spirit with his kindness, patience, and gentleness. He enjoyed golfing, family trips to Longboat Key in Florida, and being the best “Pops” to his grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of Mass at 11 Am on Wednesday, October 15th at St. Saviour Parish, 4136 Myrtle Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45236. A reception will follow in the Community Room at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241. Online condolences may be shared at www.MRFH.com
