Robert Edward Nottebart passed away on Tuesday morning, October 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Boling, Texas. He was 60 years old. ‘Bob’ was born in Wichita, Kansas to Donald E. Nottebart and Joanne L. Nottebart on June 13, 1958.
Growing up with family primarily in the Southwest Houston area, Bob graduated from Westbury High School in 1976 where he played both basketball and baseball. His love and talent for baseball led him to Lubbock Christian College where he played and where he eventually became the graduate assistant within the LCC baseball program.
He ultimately completed a master’s degree in history at the University of Houston, a subject with which he demonstrated a life-long affection, and began a distinguished teaching/coaching career at Strake Jesuit High School, and subsequently moving on to the head baseball coaching position at Wharton County Jr. College, where he also taught history for several years.
In recent years Bob enjoyed summering in New England with his wife Peggy, where he pursued hiking with his dogs in the White Mountains near his second home in Ossippee, New Hampshire.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, Donald Nottebart. He is survived by his mother Joanne Nottebard, his wife Peggy Fitt, his daughter Daniell Davis (husband Bryan), his sons Wesley Nottebart (wife Ashton), and Samuel Nottebart (wife Sharzad), as well as former spouse and mother of his children, Beth Harmon Holmgren. He leaves six grandchildren- Charles, Kaily, Greyson, Brynn, Beckett and Camden as well as loving family members and friends.
It is the family’s preference that all loving donations can be made to River Pointe Church in Richmond, Texas.
A service and celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Saturday October 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at River Pointe Church in Richmond, Texas.
