I met Bob my last season at LCC ('79). It was obvious shortly after that what a genuine guy he was, the kind who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed one. For all those who miss him most, may you know God's matchless grace and mercy, both now, and always......... Matthew 11:28 - 30.

Bobby and I played Pony League together. He was our catcher. A rather tall catcher I might add. He was always a very happy and encouraging fellow. We were friends. He used to mention in the dugout from time to time to his Dad how Willie Mays hit his 500 home run off of him and want Din to tell us the story. We would all laugh. Bobby cosId throw most runners out at second so not many people stole on him accept when Ron pitched. That was a disaster. Any way I only saw Bobby for two years of my life yet I feel so sad about his passing. I will miss Bobby. Jim Curran. Shortstop

Coach Nottebart was my history teacher in 1985 and 1986. I was in his class when the Challenger Shuttle went down. We were taking a test. I remember how he pivoted from the test to use the moment as a teaching experience. He was a great teacher.
He was also quite humorous. I enjoyed his view on life and his passion for baseball. I've told Coach Nottebart stories for years. May you Rest In Peace sir. Know you had an impact on lives.

I played Baseball at LCC with Bob. He was actually my catcher. He was one of the best catchers I ever had. There are so many memories of how he helped me achieve the goals we had set I can't begin to list them. Bob was a go-getter in every sense of the word. To his family I wish all the best to and God be with all of you !

It was great re-connecting with Coach Nottebart over the last 8 months and visiting recently at MD Anderson. He coached my brother from 87-91, and then me from 95-98 at Strake Jesuit. He also was friends with my dad for over 20 years. There can be no doubt that Coach Nottebart was a hard-nosed and good-hearted Coach and Teacher, who took great pride to help young men face challenges and persevere. I will never forget that he toed the line and absolutely went to bat for me in helping me achieve one of my greatest accomplishments, being named First Team All Greater Houston in 1998. Without him, it simply wouldn't have happened. I wasn't the easiest kid or player to deal with, but he never gave up on me and I'd like to think we challenged each other. He impacted many, many lives and I'm fortunate to have been a part of it. Prayers of strength to the family, but I also find comfort in knowing that he is no longer in such pain.

I will always remember that smile! One night against sth you gave me a sign to hit and run... I missed the sign and Paul E. was thrown out stealing. You brought me down the third base line and in front of the entire grand stands you gave me a tongue slashing. You were pissed! you looked at me with your disappointed look as if I cost you the game. The big game against our rivals. The absolute very next pitch.....
home run. When I rounded third, you had that same look on your face but with the very slightest hint of a smile while you shook your head in absolute disbelief. You wanted to strangle me one second and literally 12 seconds later you still wanted to strangle me. That smile is what I remember when I think of you.
You were tough on me at times because i was your student/player, But we were together for 3 years and shared lots of laughs and good times winning championships.
I look at where I am today.... It's because of men like you that believed in me....

God bless you, coach. You were instrumental in my college and professional career. It was good seeing you a few weeks ago...laughing and reminiscing about old times. Pray for us you've left behind as we pray for you.
