Sandra's Obituary

Sandra Jean (Laake) Wimmers, a longtime resident of Reading, passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 at the age of 73. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Alvin and Virginia (Holly) Laake. Sandy graduated from Norwood High School.

Devoted wife of 52 years to her husband, Robert “Bob” Wimmers, whom she met at a New Year’s Eve party. Dedicated mother to her daughters, Amy Fordyce Wimmers and Elizabeth Berry; cherished grandmother to Hunter and Caitlynn Fordyce and Madison Berry; sister to the late Nancy Gibbons, the late Michael Laake, Robert Laake, and Christine Jones; loving aunt to her nieces and nephews, a dear friend to many, loving companion to her dog, Rudi.

Sandy was wholly devoted to taking care of her family. She always looked forward to preparing her family meals and her chicken-n-dumplings and homemade goetta became frequent favorites. We celebrate her resilient and loving spirit and we will deeply miss her supportive and funny presence.

Visitation will be from 4 PM until the time of service at 6 PM Tuesday, September 9th at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 10211 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241. Online condolences may be shared at www.MRFH.com

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sandy’s honor are suggested to Hospice of Cincinnati through their website, www.hospiceofcincinnati.org
