TSGT Travis O'Neal Turner

Seeing the tight knit bond between Travis and the family showed me where his heart was at. Family meant the word to him. I know Travis meant so much to his family. May the beautiful memories rain supreme in your hearts and minds as your go forth.

I was young and stubborn when I joined the military, and he was patient and understanding. I did not always agree with him, but he turned into a friend and a mentor over the years. When he got out at any time of day or night, I could call him and talk if I needed to. He was truly a good man. He will be missed. Rest in peace brother.

I am truly at a loss for words, and my deepest condolences go out to the family. I first met Travis while stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, where he was my supervisor. We quickly discovered we were both from Virginia—Petersburg, to be exact—which proved how small the Air Force community really is. We shared both fun and challenging times together in Vegas, and it was an absolute honor to serve alongside him.

This hit different when you know the person, sadden by this but I know we are not here forever and earth is not our forever home.

In life, some only exist yet within 43 years you managed to live a life of substance, of honor, of love, and of dignity by becoming the man that you would be. A man who rendered a life of love and honorable service. I have been proud to watch you evolve from a boy to a man and a father. You and your brother Lorenzo have always been more than just cousins to me but my younger brothers.
