Mr. Ward Ramsay Allen Sr., age 82, of Virgil View Lane, Young Harris, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness. Born on January 14, 1942, in Daytona Beach, FL, he was the son of the late Charles Myron Allen and Kathryn Ramsay Allen.
Ward was a man of many passions, with a profound love for fishing, traveling, and his cherished West Highland White Terriers. He was a member of Sharp Memorial Church, where he found community and fellowship.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 55 years, Sandra Van Gundy Allen of Young Harris; one daughter and son-in-law, Kristan and Michael Bagley of Chattanooga, along with their children, Chandlar M. Bagley, Cecelia L. Bagley, Roman Bagley, Tatiana Bagley, and Anastasia Bagley. He also leaves two sons and daughters-in-law: Ward and Kimberly Allen Jr. of Cornelia, GA, and their children, McLean J. Allen, Quinn H. Allen, and Ward Ramsay Allen III (Tripp), and Russell Allen and Jeannie Chacko and their son Noah Arthur Chacko-Allen of Brookhaven, GA.
Ward also leaves behind many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date at Sharp Memorial Church, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a pet rescue organization in Mr. Allen’s memory.
