William's Obituary

On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the age of 89, Wm. Fred Seay joined our Heavenly Father in his new home Jesus prepared for Fred.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents Gladys and Sam Seay, one brother and two sisters, a son, Eric Seay and a grandson Steve Seay. He is survived by his devoted loving wife of 65 years, Carolyn Seay; daughter Renee of Odessa, daughters-in-law Cheryl and husband Rocky Ford of Midland, Pam Seay of Midland and sons by choice Gary Mariott of Midland and Tim and wife Monica Mariott of Boerne. Grandchildren Sammi and “Chopper” Roy Colvin, Rhea Ann and Devin Barrera, Josh Onojaefe of Midland; Nathan Seay of Lubbock, Treydan Seay of Midland, Shalsea Kalilikane, Kennedi Seay and six great grandchildren.

Fred was ordained as a Baptist Deacon in 1969 and held many positions in several Baptist churches joyfully. His dearest friendships were made in those churches.

Fred was born in Ranger, Texas and attended schools there, he graduated in 1955. He began working at age 12 in a grocery store and retired from the oilfield at 62 years old to enjoy time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Fred loved to make people laugh, having people laugh at him for making simple mistakes. He enjoyed telling stories with some truth in them that proclaimed a moral ideal and ending with a scripture. These stories will soon be on sale for five cents a copy just as soon as we can find a cheap publisher!

Fred said God had blessed him with many good people in his life and he also said, “It’s been a goodun”.

Receiving of Friends will be on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home located at 2508 N. Big Spring Street in Midland.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and Visiting Angels for their care of Fred during his final months.
