Bill came into my life when I was 16 years old He and my mom were a wonderful, happy couple always. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a compassionate man. He was a proud Navy man and a true patriot. When living in VA. I had the privilege of serving with MA1 Bill Stockberger when he reported to the precommissioning detail for the Battleship IOWA (BB-61) in 1983, Pascagoula, MS. Bill came back on active duty from the Fleet Reserve. He was a well respected shipmate with whom I enjoyed many liberty calls throughout Central and South America, the Caribbean Sea, and of course Norfolk, Virginia.
