Bonner.Yvonne came from a strong and deeply rooted family. On her mother’s side, she was the treasured granddaughter of Philip McKinney Burrow and the late Mary Frances Jones Burrow. On her father’s side, she was the cherished granddaughter of Arthur Bonner and Mary Lee Tucker Bonner.From the moment she entered this world, Yvonne held a special place in her family’s heart — she was the very first grandchild on both sides, a role that brought her endless love, pride, and admiration.Yvonne began her education in Petersburg, Virginia, before relocating to Brooklyn, New York, where she continued her schooling and blossomed into the powerful, graceful woman she became. She graduated from Eli Whitney High School in Brooklyn.Devoted to her community and to the safety of children, Yvonne served as a school crossing guard for the New York City Board of Education. She later forged her own path as a freelancer, embodying independence, resilience, and determination in all she pursued.Yvonne was a woman of creativity, elegance, and depth. Affectionately known as “Pie,” she loved arts and crafts, enjoyed playing the piano, and took joy in cooking for those she loved. She had a natural gift for style—always well-dressed, poised, and confident. She was well-spoken, beautifully articulate, and possessed impeccable penmanship, with the rare ability to write musical notes by hand. Her talents were a reflection of the beauty she carried inside and out.She dedicated her life to caring for others — a nurturing childcare provider, a passionate community activist, and a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her presence was soft yet powerful, offering comfort, strength, and wisdom to everyone blessed to stand in her light.Yvonne leaves behind three beautiful children who adored her: Rondell, Ykela, and Yanick; three loving grandchildren: Shanta, Faith, and Carmelo; and one precious great-granddaughter: Janae, who brought her endless joy.Her legacy is one of love, creativity, resilience, and grace. Though she has transitioned from this earthly life, her spirit remains a guiding light. She will be deeply missed, faithfully honored, and forever remembered.Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday December 4, 2025 at the Petersburg Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home.
