Miriam Gruenert Obituary
Miriam Gruenert, nee Krueger, 84, of St. Louis, Mo., was called home to her Lord on Thursday, May 15, 2008.
Mrs. Gruenert was born on Oct. 7, 1923, in Firth, Neb., to Fred and Anna Krueger. She moved to St. Louis to pursue her career as a registered nurse, where she met and married Neal J. Gruenert in 1946.
Miriam grew up on the family farm and developed a love for horse which she road back and forth to school She was very proud of receiving her R.N. Degree and enjoyed working at Lutheran Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. She worked part time while raising her family. She was also very proud of her family and was not afraid to let anyone know who would listen. She was very friendly and would start a conversation with anyone around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal; her sister, Joan Schramm; and her brother, Dean Krueger.
Surviving are her daughter, Suzanne (George) Halamicek; her son, Gary (Susan) Gruenert; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Danny) Gruenert, Sara (Constantine) Malouf, Lisa (Aaron) Hunsaker and Matt Gruenert; her great-grandchildren, Sydney Gruenert and Constantine Malouf II.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. (at Butler Hill), St. Louis, Mo., and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 765 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, Mo. 63125.
Funeral: Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008, at the church. Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
