Frederick Simon
Frederick Bertram "Fritz" Simon, 76, of Collinsville, Ill., born Oct. 18, 1928, in Collinsville, Ill., died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005.
Mr. Simon was a retired wholesale jeweler for Baumann-Massa Jewelry Co., St. Louis, Mo. In the 1950s and 60s he worked with his family business Simon Jewelers, Collinsville, Ill. He attended New Bethel United Methodist Church, Glen Carbon, Ill., and was a Army Second Lieutenant Korean War veteran.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brent Frederick Simon; his parents, Jacob and Thelma, nee Bertram, Simon Sr.; a sister, Shirley Johnson; and a brother, Jacob Simon Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Claire, nee Krumeich, Simon of Collinsville, Ill.; a daughter, Stacey (Chris) Luber of Collinsville, Ill.; a son, Dane Simon of Maryville, Ill.; a sister, Judy Terry of Glen Carbon, Ill.; a grandson, Jordan Luber of Collinsville, Ill; and a granddaughter, Courtney Luber of Collinsville, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with the Rev. Jay Krumeich officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.

Claire, I am so sorry to hear about Fritz. Although I have rarely seen him since High School days, he was a great guy and I always considered him one of my dear friends. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Claire, so very sorry to hear of Fritz's passing. We served with the Army National Guard in Camp Cook California and Ft. Lewis Washington. Fritz was one of the most pleasant people I have ever known. I know he will be missed. May God comfort and keep you. John and Rose
