Matthew Alan Simon

Matthew Alan Simon, 58, who was born in Michigan on January 17, 1968, passed away on March 6, 2026, in Rockwall, Texas. He was a faithful father, grandfather, husband, and brother.

Matt, as he was affectionately known, had a career in IT for over 30 years. He was an avid lover of animals, especially cats. He was devoted to his three cats, Loki, Boots, and Selena, and often slept with them near his side. Matt was known for his iconic smile; he never failed to brighten a room. Whether it was through his comedic timing or his ability to show love, he was also known for uplifting spirits.

Matt was always searching for a deal and loved to go to garage sales and antique stores. He was also into sports and loved the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Red Wings. Matt loved all things Star Wars and was the proud owner of many Star Wars memorabilia. He loved a good puzzle and set of Legos, and he couldn't get enough of his music collection.

As a child, Matt was curious and adventurous, and his siblings described him as very thoughtful. That thoughtfulness followed him in adulthood. Matt was always someone you could count on. He was a man of his word and would always follow through.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Simon; his father, George Simon; and his sister, Cyndy Simon.

Those left to cherish lasting memories include his children, Jacob Simon and Madison Simon; his grandchildren, Isaac and Isaiah, who affectionately regarded him as "Pop"; his stepchildren, Matthew, Sara, Alexis, and Kristian; his wife, Anna Simon; his siblings, George and his wife Emily, Mark and his wife Karen, Steve and his wife Marie, Paul and his wife Melissa, Bruce and his wife Jana, and Laura; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Matt will be deeply missed by many. His character, loyalty, and kindness were one in a million.
