It is with deeply heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ana Karina Storgaard, age 55, of
Garland, Texas. Ana was born in Mexico City, Mexico, on August 25, 1970, and departed this world on March 3, 2026. Ana was a bright light in this world, and she will be forever missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Ana spent most of her life dedicated to caring for others through her work in dentistry. She worked in the dental field for approximately 40 years as a dental assistant, including over 20 years at Dr. Buegher's dental office. Her commitment to her profession and the relationships she built over the years left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Outside of her career, Ana had many passions that brought her joy. She loved animals deeply and was especially proud to be a devoted dog mom. Ana enjoyed spending time around the water and loved being at the lake whenever she could. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures - watching funny movies, dancing, playing cards, cooking, and entertaining friends and family. While she could be reserved in nature, those who knew her best often described her as a ray of sunshine, someone whose warmth and presence quietly brightened every room she entered.
Ana also had a strong appreciation for beauty and style. She loved shopping and had an eye for beautiful jewelry, something friends and family often joked reflected her "expensive taste." Later in life, Ana demonstrated her determination by pursuing something completely new. She returned to school and graduated from beauty school, proving that it is never too late to follow a new path or learn something different.
Throughout her life, Ana faced many medical challenges, yet she continued forward with remarkable strength, resilience, and bravery. Her perseverance and quiet courage were an inspiration to those around her. Ana was also Catholic in faith and carried that faith with her throughout her life.
Ana's life was one defined by kindness, perseverance, and a deep love for her family and friends. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Graciela Martinez Storgaard; her father, Neal Jerome Storgaard; her uncle, Antonio Martinez; and her grandmother, Antonia Juarez Barbabosa.
Ana leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory always, including her sister and best friend, Alexandra Featherston; her brothers, Dean Storgaard, Dan Storgaard, and David Storgaard; her aunt, Alicia Irene Herberston; her uncle, Robert Herbertson; her aunt, Gloria Martinez; as well as many dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
A public time of gathering and visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, March 16, 2026, in Reflections Chapel at Rest Haven Funeral Home, located at 2500 State Highway 66 East,
