Cliffy will forever remain special to me.
He has always been a class act. Showed by example how to take of yourself both mentally and physically.
He hit me with a chop block in our last English High/Latin game in high school. I'm still mad at him:)
He brought me to Rochester to speak to some of his schools and I was so proud that my homeboy was the Superintendent.
I'm sure his cousin Gerry Lynch is givin' him the 411 in heaven.
Much love to Kim, his brother, Skipper and the rest of the family.
Peace,
Bill Overton

I remember Cliffie like it was yesterday. Id see him every day in Dudley Station getting on the bus with the rest of the boys who went to English HS & Boys Latin, while I was waiting for my bus. I also remember him running track up at White Stadium. Were the same age, and Im stunned after reading that hes passed. Im suddenly aware that hes part of the first wave of people my age dying. Wow, Ill always remember him as someone who strived towards excellence and tried to make a difference in our community wherever he went. What a loss! My deepest sympathies to all of The Janey family. My husband, Dr Royal Tucker, knew the Janey family, and is also saddened to hear the news. My brother, Ray Lombre, reminded me how we all came out of the same Albany Street project and that he lived across the way from our building. Childhood memories just keep flooding back .

Cliff was a wonderful human being, a dedicated educator and an unwavering advocate for excellence and equity for all students. He was a man of great integrity and deep commitment. He stood up to governance fights and political intrusions into education. He was steadfast in his commitment to students.
Cliff, thank you. Rest, the work is on us now.
