ROBERT KALECHOFSKY Obituary

KALECHOFSKY, Robert Dr. Robert Kalechofsky of Marblehead, MA. entered into rest on December 13, 2020 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of Roberta for 67 years. Devoted father of Hal and Neal and his wife Patty, cherished grandfather of Adrienne, Adam, Alexa, Zev, and Nikash. The loving brother of Solly and Sarah, dear son of the late Benjamin and Faygel Kalechofsky. Robert grew up in Brooklyn, graduated from City College of New York—the first of his family to go to college. He obtained a PhD in Mathematics and taught at Salem State University for many years, raising his family in nearby Marblehead. He greatly enjoyed reading and publishing, traveling the world, walking on Preston Beach with Roberta and was a dedicated member of the JCC of the North Shore. Those who knew Robert can attest to the fact that he lived life on his own terms. Ever the teacher, Robert published a memoir of his time here on earth for us all to have, and his memory will live on with us forever. Tolerant, wise, loving, infinitely curious, Robert will be missed—we know because we miss him already. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory by donating to either the JNF Plant A Tree Fund or PETA , both causes in which he believed fiercely.
