Just seeing this today - knew Charlie very well and even drove him to Scranton one time . Tried to contact 3-4 years back and knew he was living with Jacqui or Jessie, but he had moved from South Shore.
1 of the 2 smartest people I ever met and a very good friend back then at BU.
Ron Quanrude a mutual friend now in a home here in Iowa.
My best to Jessie and Jacqui and everyone else.

My sincere sympathy to Charlie's family, Moonyeen and Tommy. I remember my times at the Leonard house with Moonyeen. Charlie was such a nice person and good brother to Moonyeen. I remember how intelligent he was. May he Rest In Peace!

Always loved listening to Charlie and his extensive knowledge. He would always talk about science and human behavior. He was a great story teller. He also was such a sweet soul. He was a dedicated brother to my mom. Such great memories with the Scioscia clan in Scranton and Bethany Beach. Fond memories of New England and visits to Boston as a kid.

My condolences to Charlie's family. I met Charlie in 1979, when we were graduate students and teaching assistants at department of physics in Boston University. We have the same interest in theoretical physics, especially Einstein's special relativity. He showed me his thesis work, relativistic spin object, which was published in America Journal of Physics. I showed him my works about a new theory of relativity, which were not accepted by the mainstream in physics. Charlie, not like others, examined my works carefully, and gave critical and enlightening comments. This indicates that Charlie is not only brilliant, but also open-minded. Moreover, Charlie is a person of good heart and generous to his friends. Soon after I had Ph D degree, Charlie and I had a joyful trip to Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, , because of his considerable planning. Then, I found a teaching job and went back to my country Taiwan. In the period of September 1999 to June 2000, when I was in sabbatical leave to do researches at department of physics in Harvard University, we met again. Charlie introduced his friend Berry Bruce to me, and we discussed Bruce's work of Infinite Universe and my works. At the end of my sabbatical leave, I went back to Taiwan. Since then, we have continued discussing problems of my works by mails, and with his help I published many papers related to the new theory of relativity. Words cannot describe how grateful my gratitude to Charlie. Charlie is always in my heart.

My condolences to Charlie's family and friends. My recollection of Charlie goes back many years when we shared a small hall at the University of Rochester. I remember Charlie and his friend, Phillip Serwer, as 2 students with brilliant mathematical minds. The world will be a diminished place without his intellect. I hope that others will carry on for him.

Charlie was the first of the Scioscia cousins. I was the last. We are bookends on the incredible group of cousins that came from the Golden Twelve. Charlie stories were often told by my mother and father - that is how I came to know him at first. I was too young to recall most of the actual incidents. One strong memory I have of Charlie is from his visit to Scranton and him explaining to us all that we should have a Scioscia blood bank to keep us all safe and that we should have a regular gathering where we Scioscias all should exchange our knowledge and educate one another on different skills we each possessed.
