Robert E. Kennedy

KENNEDY, Robert E. 70 died Sunday October 11 following a courageous battle against illness. He was the beloved husband of 41 years to Sarah (Armitage) Kennedy. Born and raised in Malden he was the son of the late Harold and Virginia (Everett) Kennedy. Robert graduated from Boston College High School in 1957, and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Stonehill College. For over 30 years, Robert was a respected teacher in the Whitman School system. While a resident of the Halifax community for nearly four decades, Robert was a youth soccer coach and an active member of the choir at Our Lady of the Lake Church. In addition to his wife Sarah he is survived by his loving children Liam Kennedy and his wife Jennifer of S. Boston, Colm Kennedy of S. Boston, and Aisling Morrissey and her husband John of Concord, his sister Virginia Farren of Concord and his grandchildren Siobhan and Eoin Morrissey as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Kennedy. His funeral service will be held Saturday October 17 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a mass at 9 AM in Our Lady of The Lake Church, Halifax. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery, Halifax. Visiting hours will be held Friday October 16 from 4-8 PM.
